It was all smiles, and a little bit of fear, as the PTES crew took to the paintball field on July 27. As much as we love to work together, playing together always brings us closer. We visited The Paintball park at Alpine to get to know each other better, off the clock.
Fifteen employees attended the weekend event. Anthony Fuentes, Field Technician and employee since January, attended the event and here’s what he had to say, “It was really fun. I got to see a side of my coworkers that I have never seen before, in a good way.”
Along with other “non-PTES staff”, the crew was split into two teams to battle it out for the win. After the first round, the teams were taken to a second location to continue the play. Suddenly, from underneath a large, wooden, wire spool, a rattlesnake emerged. “Snaaaaaaaaaaaake” was yelled and play stopped. The staff took the teams to another location. Play began then, again, the rattlesnake emerged from a set of large, wooden, wire spools. After some bravery and snake wrangling skills demonstrated by a non-PTES player, the snake was safely relocated, and the safety of all players was preserved.
Lunch was served to the team. Tamales for everyone, chicken, cheese, drinks and goodie bags, provided by our own Trevor Hembera, Director of Field Services and employee of PTES for 8 years.
“It was pretty awesome. It was good to interact with the guys and get to know them better outside of work,” said Patrick Schuster, Director of Operations and employee of PTES for 13 years.
PTES believes in team building off the clock to bring the work family closer together. Next up? A family picnic or perhaps jet skiing.
- Patrick, “It was pretty awesome. It was good to interact with the guys and get to know them better outside of work.”
- Story about rattlesnake – one of the spots went to, we were ready to start the game and the rattlesnake was discovered under a big wooden spool that was to be used to hide behind. Rattlesnake was trying to stay cool by hiding under the spools. Game was stopped until a player from the other team captured the snake with tongs and relocated it.
- Did you have lunch after or dinner? Tamales for everyone, chicken and cheese, drinks, goodie bags. Trevor made them.
- What’s next event? Jet Skiiing or family picnic up next.
